Lightly toned Uncirculated with full mint bloom and a trifle weakness of strike in the obverse center, as often seen on this legendary issue. Surface quality is unusually high for the assigned grade, and the Prooflike designation is entirely deserved.
One of the key types of the Republican 8 Escudos series, always in demand and extremely rare and desirable in this superb quality. Currently tied with another coin as the finest certified of the type at either major third party grading service (these two “top-pop” examples are also the only ones labeled as “Prooflike” for the type), and among the very finest extant.
