Struck under the rule of Ludwig II de Male or the Count of Vlaanderen, this issue depicts a lion seated on the throne with a helmet depicted on the obverse. The reverse has a D in the center with the letters F L A N surrounding the single character with an intricate floral design and both sides are exceptionally well centered. This hand hammered issue exhibits sharp characteristics on both sides with sharp eye-appeal. Golden surfaces are covered by light amber tones that seamlessly blend into appealing patina.This coin is the finest certified example at NGC as of 10/03/18.
