Yonaka’s reference book is a variety guide and price listing of the fractional pillar or columnario coins, specifically the half, one, two and four reales issued by the Mexico City mint during the years 1732 to1771. He uses a data driven approach in his guide in order to give numismatists the most relevant information possible in pursuit of their interests. Varieties not proven to exist are not included. The book describes and assigns rarity to all dates and varieties. The photographic and descriptive detail facilitates accurate variety designation of whatever specimens the collector may encounter.
