The Doblon denomination is synonymous with 10 pesos and supposedly only two examples were struck in gold as pattern coinage. Bronze and gilt bronze examples are the most common examples found of this proposed coinage. This example is the broad date variety with some traces of luster being present on the surfaces. Despite the details designation, this example is one of the classic rarities within the Uruguay series.
