This issue was stuck for only the years : 1808, 1811, and 1817. The first two years are very rare in comparison to the 1817 dated striking as a few examples are available. Although this date is not readily available either in uncirculated grades. This example does exhibit some incompleteness in strike at 9 o’clock on the obverse, but given the scarcity of the issue and overall pleasing look of the slightly toned surfaces. The flaws are outweighed by the overall eye-appeal and attractive surfaces of this rare coin. Only one finer exists in MS63 at NGC to date.
