The purported mintage of this date was 55 pieces and not many have survived for the collector. Of the pieces that have survived include a F, AU55, MS63, and an MS64 which all have been certified by NGC or PCGS. This example is very well centered and displays only the faintest amount of weakness on the obverse at 6 o’clock position. Remainder of the coin appears beautifully lustrous with sharply struck up characteristics on both sides to create splendid eye-appeal. This example is the finest graded specimen at both grading services to date.
