The state of Westphalia was ruled by Napoleon’s brother Jerome from 1807-1813 and was heavily taxed by France. It was progressive and Napoleonic code was enacted throughout this vassal state to create equality among men. Faint adjustment marks exist on the obverse and more so on the reverse. However, this example is the finest and only mint state graded specimen as of 12/18/18, and exhibits a well struck effigy with somewhat lustrous surfaces that are appealing to view.
